From Inception to Employment: The Journey of Recognized Startups in India under the Startup India Initiative

Abstract:

This research paper presents a comprehensive analysis of the surge in startups recognized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in India, and the concurrent increase in job creation within the entrepreneurial landscape. Spanning the years from 2016 to 2022, the study relies on data sourced from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) and the official Startup India website. Beyond merely quantifying the growth in recognized startups, this research delves into the intricacies of job creation. By drawing correlations between the rise in the number of startups and the upswing in job opportunities, the paper underscores the symbiotic relationship between entrepreneurship and employment generation. The findings of this study hold significant implications, shedding light on the transformative role of startups in the socio-economic fabric of India. As startups continue to emerge and expand, the creation of job opportunities contributes substantively to economic development and innovation.
